During the dissolution of ZrCl 4 in water (0.3 mol of ZrCl 4 /L) and addition of ammonia solution, the temperature was kept below 343 K. The precipitate was washed thoroughly with deionized water to remove the chloride ions, dried at 393 K for 12 h, and calcined for 4 h at 773 K.
