Both optic and electron micro scopic investigations allowed the diagnosis of the mesectodermal type of leiomyoma of the ciliary body.Since the first identification by electron microscopy ofa hybrid neurogenic-myogen ic tumour of the ciliary body presenting a gliomatous aspect in light microscopy [Meyer et al, 1968], a few new cases have been published [Jakobiec et al, 1977; Jakobiec and Iwainoto, 1978] or demonstrated in eye-pathology societies [Calhoun, 1976; Nauman, 1977, von Domains, 1978. In a recently published case [Croxalto and Malhran, 1982] the clinical picture of such a tumour was given for the first time.…”
