“…Some human females, however, do show clinical symptoms similar to those of the female brindled mice, including abnormal hair structure [31] and abnor mal skin pigmentation [32], In addition, the sister of 1 male patient, who had Menkes' disease, also exhibited abnormal hair and abnormal deep tendon reflexes, as well as generalized clonic seizures [33], dying at the age of 14 months. Given the similarity between these clinical symptoms, and those of the female brindled mouse, more extensive neurological examination of human car riers should be undertaken.…”

Exaggerated anticipatory anxiety is common in social anxiety disorder (SAD). Neuroimaging studies have revealed altered neural activity in response to social stimuli in SAD, but fewer studies have examined neural activity during anticipation of feared social stimuli in SAD. The current study examined the time course and magnitude of activity in threat processing brain regions during speech anticipation in socially anxious individuals and healthy controls (HC). Method Participants (SAD n = 58; HC n = 16) underwent functional magnetic resonance imaging (fMRI) during which they completed a 90s control anticipation task and 90s speech anticipation task.

“…Heterozygous women tend to be rather mildly affected, and Minor's sweat testing shows rather often a Blaschko-linear pattern of anhidrotic areas (Figure 5) [47]. Other traits within this group include Menkes syndrome [48], X-linked dyskeratosis congenita [49], IFAP (ichthyosis follicularis, atrichia, photophobia) syndrome [50], reticulate pigmentary disorder of Partington [51] and X-linked dominant hypertrichosis [52].…”
