La presente investigación tuvo como finalidad determinar el contenido calórico en la leche humana y la influencia de varios factores obstétricos y neonatales en madres usuarias del Banco de Leche Humana del Hospital General Docente Ambato-Ecuador. Se realizó un estudio descriptivo, cuantitativo, transversal. La información fue recolectada mediante una encuesta elaborada por los autores basada en la historia clínica perinatal del Centro Latinoamericano de erinatología (CLAP), la misma es validada por 5 médicos especialistas mediante el método Delphi. En el análisis estadístico se establece un intervalo de confianza del 95% y una Chi2 con p menor a 0,05 como significación estadística. El contenido calórico promedio encontrado fue: calostro 61,62 cal./100 ml.; leche de transición 68,38 cal./100 ml. y leche madura 72,21cal./100ml., valores muy similares a los reportados por la literatura médica consultada, se determinó una pérdida calórica del 8,3% por el proceso de pasteurización. De los factores obstétricos investigados se encontró que la nutrición materna (p= 0,011982) y la lactancia precoz (p= 0,04690), tuvieron relación directa con un mayor contenido calórico de la leche madura, ninguno de los factores neonatales analizados tuvo significación estadística.

Photoacoustic imaging (PAI) has been used to characterize the spatial and quantitative features of lipid-rich atherosclerotic plaques with high sensitivity and specificity. In this Letter, we first validate that the ultra-low temperature and formaldehyde treatment have no effect on photoacoustic characteristics of the artery samples. Comparative experiments between the PAI and histological results demonstrate that the ultra-low temperature or formaldehyde treatment has few effects on the PAI of the lipid-rich atherosclerotic plaques; the lipid relative concentration and the lipid percentage by PAI hold high correlation with histology.
