Immune serum and monoclonal antibodies prevented fatal T-cell-mediated immunopathology following acute LCMV infections. In addition, 10-and 14-day-old mice that received maternally derived anti-LCMV antibodies through nursing were protected from an otherwise lethal LCMV challenge.
