Abstract: Enzymatic cleavage of Amyloid-β Protein Precursor (AβPP) produces amyloid-β (Aβ) peptides which form the insoluble cortical plaques characteristic of Alzheimer’s Disease (AD). AβPP is post-transcriptionally processed into three major isoforms with differential cellular and tissue expression patterns.
