Abstract: The paper reports on a new mathematical model, starting with the original Hill equation which is derived to describe cell viability (V) while testing nanomaterials (NMs). Key information on the sample’s morphology, such as mean size (⟨s⟩) and size dispersity (σ) is included in the new model via the lognormal distribution function. The new Hill-inspired equation is successfully used to fit MTT (3-(4,5-dimethylthiazol-2-yl)-2,5-diphenyltetrazolium bromide) data from assays performed with the HepG2 cell line chal… Show more

“…It is worth noting that the cytotoxicity results and model fitting may be influenced by different particle mean size. 45 The timedependent cytotoxicity in A549 was also shown in the Fc-NLC(F)@PC group (Figure S6). Moreover, the cell-killing effect of the nanoreactor was more efficient in drug resistance cells, indicating the superiority of ferroptosis therapy (Figure S7).…”

“… Accordingly, the Fc-NLC(F)@PC group exhibited about 4.0-fold higher cell killing effect enhancement compared to the Fc-NLC group, implying the efficiency of combination of tumor acidosis and antioxidant system collapse. It is worth noting that the cytotoxicity results and model fitting may be influenced by different particle mean size . “…Although MZF has been shown to have good cytocompatibility in previous studies, 43 particle size also has a significant impact on cytotoxicity. 44 Therefore, the cytotoxicity of MZF-HS was first evaluated for MCF-7 cells with the methyl thiazolyltetrazolium (MTT) assay. The dose dependence of cell viability is curve-fitted using Hill's equation according to a method reported by Li et al , 45 as shown in Fig.…”
