“…The EPDS has 10 items scored on a 4-point scale. This measure is widely used during the prenatal and postnatal periods with parents of young children [43]. Internal consistency of the EPDS was good both in a previous study of Colombian women (α = 0.78) [44] and in this study (α = 0.83).…”

“…Disordered personality traits have similarly been reported to be associated with mother-child interaction deficits in cross-sectional studies with toddlers [50] and older children [51]. Given that accumulating evidence is suggesting an association between disordered personality traits in mothers and child outcomes [30,31], maternal sensitivity could potentially be a modifiable target for interventions, as maternal sensitivity during early infancy predicts mother-child attachment formation, which is known to influence later child outcomes [52].…”

As disordered personality traits are on a spectrum, diagnostic personality disorder would be considered at the severe end of the spectrum.…”

“…, which enhances the risk for chronic courses of PPD, problematic parenting, and negative child outcomes (Field, 2018;Hoffman, Dunn, & Njoroge, 2017;Huntley, Wright, Pickles, Sharp, & Hill, 2017;McLaughlin et al, 2012;Netsi et al, 2018). In order to buffer the negative effects of PPD among the mother, infant, and their relationship, supporting these mothers in their parenting capacities can be essential (Barlow, Bennett, Midgley, Larkin, & Wei, 2015;Guedeney, Guedeney, Wendland, & Burtchen, 2014).…”
