Abstract: Planetary explorers may have the equivalent of SatNav to guide them, but to avoid ending up in the space equivalent of a double‐decker bus wedged under a low bridge, they need proper maps. And the topographer who is mapping exploration targets has received an Exceptional Achievement medal from NASA for the quality of his work.
