Mapping the systematic literature studies about software ecosystems

Abstract: There is a need to improve the definition and development of technological ecosystems in order to solve the main problems detected in previous studies. To achieve this goal, it is required to identify and analyse the solutions available in the literature in the field of software engineering applied to ecosystems. The research in software ecosystems is a relatively young research area, but there are already several works that analyse the literature associated. To conduct a new systematic literature review is ne… Show more

“…This SLR allowed us to (1) outline the issues relevant to serious web-based gaming and accessibility studies; (2) identify how accessibility is involved in serious gaming; (3) determine accessibility guidelines based on the WCAG, and (4) identify the assistive technologies and devices used to achieve accessibility in serious gaming according to disability. After an extraction process of 476 studies, a collection of 47 primary studies was selected using the Preferred Reporting Elements for Systematic Reviews (PRISMA) [11,12], the flowchart in the selection process.…”

“…A. Garcia-Holgado and F. Garcia-Penalvo [11] provide an overview of the software ecosystem domain as a whole, while O. Barbosa et al [12] aims to scope the domain from three-dimensional perspective. F. Fotrousi et al [13] conducted a study on KPIs for software ecosystems.…”

“…There are many terms to describe this type of solution, though each one has distinctive characteristics [17]. In particular, the technological ecosystem concept emphasizes the human factor as an inherent part of the ecosystem in order to develop solutions with evolutive capabilities focused on supporting knowledge management in heterogeneous contexts.…”
