Abstract: Fluorescence in situ hybridization (FISH) was undertaken in order to determinate the chromosomal distribution pattern of 18S and 5S ribosomal DNAs (rDNA) in four populations of the characid fish Astyanax altiparanae from the upper Paraná river basin, Brazil.
