Manufacturing of Reticulated Open‐Cellular Aluminum Nitride Ceramic Foams from Aqueous AlN Suspensions

Abstract: Open-celled aluminum nitride ceramic foams are prepared from aqueous suspensions of AlN powders passivated against hydrolysis by prior treatment with aluminum dihydrogenphosphate solutions. The sintering is performed with Y 2 O 3 as sintering aid in a conventional tube furnace at 1 650 C under N 2 .
