Minimally invasive functional approach for cholesteatoma surgery

[2][3][4] We have been using a functional minimally invasive approach for the removal of cholesteatoma, in which the exposure is progressively expanded as necessary to remove the capsule as much in a single sheet as possible and with minimal tears. The concept is based on the observation that most cholesteatomas are variably adherent to the surrounding mucosa or bone.…”
