The presence of continuing local inflammation does seem an important factor in the genesis of squamous cell carcinoma and comparison with Marjolin's ulcer has been made (Lodge et al, 1955). In our series, 82 per cent of patients presenting under 50 years of age had chronic aural discharge.…”
