Because rare malignant HPC tumors have been described in the oral region, 20,21 the distinction between these two lesions may be clinically significant. In contrast, neither recurrence nor metastases have been reported in intra‐oral SFT.…”

HPC of the oral cavity has been observed in the floor of the mouth, hard palate, gingiva, alveolar-buccal sulcus, mandible and soft palate (Goldwasser & Daw 1990, Vogler et al 1990, Singh et al 1993, Hiraumi et al 2002. HPC represents approximately 3% of all tumours in the head and neck (Walike & Bailey 1971).…”
