The introduction of sulphapyridine (Costello, 1940) and dapsone (Esteves and Brandao, 1950), has certainly greatly benefited those suffering from dermatitis herpetiformis and anxiety and despair are no longer features of the well controlled patient. Poor physique, however, is still a frequent feature of this disease, and in the present series the eight adult patients with intestinal mucosal abnormalities were on average 18-8 lb.…”
