Abstract: Microlicia furnensis, a new endemic species from campos rupestres of Capitólio municipality, Minas Gerais state, Brazil, is described and illustrated. The new species is characterized by its cream petals with pale pink blotches at the apex, sessile or subsessile leaves and golden glandular trichomes and short pale trichomes covering the leaves, pedicels, hypanthium and the calyx lobes. “…Microlicia martiana has a short petiole (0.4-0.6 mm long), the blade is linear-lanceolate, with an acute, sometimes apiculate apex, the midrib is impressed on the adaxial surface, and prominent on the abaxial surface (Romero 2013). Microlicia viscida also bears some resemblance to M. furnensis R. Romero & Versiane, which occurs in the southwestern part of Minas Gerais state (Romero and Versiane 2014) and to M. rugosa. The species have fastigiate branches and a dense indumentum of spherical glands covering branches, leaves, hypanthium and sepals.…”
