Abstract: Background: Non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) is a common malignancy over the world. Previous report indicated that the plasmacytoma variant translocation 1 (PVT1) has been documented to function as an oncogene in various types of human cancers. However, the biological mechanism of PVT1 was still rarely reported in NSCLC. Methods: The levels of PVT1, miR-17-5p, and bone morphogenetic protein and activin membrane-bound inhibitor (BAMBI) in NSCLC tissues (n=64) and cells (H1299 and A549) were detected by qRT-PC… Show more

“…4 In another study, knockdown of PVT1 remarkably suppresses the growth of xenograft tumors in nude mice. 5 These studies substantiate that PVT1 is a promising therapeutic target of NSCLC, whereas the detailed mechanism of the promoting effects of PVT1 on NSCLC procession warrants further investigation.…”

“…[10][11][12] In previous studies, the role of lncRNA PVT1 in NSCLC has been explored preliminarily. 4,5,13,14 It is reported that the expression level of PVT1 is enhanced in NSCLC tissues and cell lines, and knockdown of PVT1 impedes proliferation, migration and invasion of NSCLC cells. 13 Additionally, knockdown of PVT1 sensitizes A549 cells to cisplatin.…”

“…Evidences have been shown that the molecular and cellular pathogenesis of tumor is commonly associated with tumor suppressor gene inactivation and oncogene activation. 21,22 In addition, inactivation of tumor suppressor gene is associated with epigenetic modification, including DNA methylation. 23 DNA methylation biomarkers can be used as prognostic markers for the treatment of human cancers.…”

“…4 Reportedly, lncRNAs can markedly regulate the progression of multiple cancers including GC. [5][6][7] For instance, as an oncogenic lncRNA, lncRNA AFDN-DT can inhibit GC cell growth through transcriptional regulation; 8 as a tumorsuppressive factor, LINC00460 is significantly upregulated in GC tissues, and promotes the malignant biological behaviors of cancer cells via epigenetically silencing CCNG2. 9 LncRNA C-terminal binding protein 1 antisense RNA 2 (CTBP1-AS2) is not only related to the susceptibility to type 2 diabetes 10 but also closely connected with the recurrence of papillary thyroid cancer.…”
