“…16 Multiple studies have reported the 5-year disease-free and actuarial survival rates of laparoscopic nephrectomy with stage T1/2 N0M0 patients ranging from 91% to 95% and 81% to 95%, respectively. 7,8,17 In our study, the 5-year disease-free survival following RPN and TPN procedures was 90% and 90%, respectively. The 5-year overall survival following RPN and TPN procedures was 98% and 96%, respectively.…”

“…Laparoscopic partial nephrectomy (LPN) has emerged as a viable alternative to open partial nephrectomy demonstrating favorable long-term oncologic outcomes [Permpongkosol et al 2005;Portis et al 2002] comparable to open partial nephrectomy [Colombo et al 2008;Mattar and Finelli, 2007;Chan et al 2001;Dunn et al 2000], but with the convalescence benefits of a minimally invasive approach [Porpiglia et al 2008;Gill et al 2001]. However, LPN is a technically challenging procedure, particularly performing intracorporeal sutured renal reconstruction under the time constraints of warm ischemia.…”
