ECMO has recently been judged to be indicated for patients with sepsis and to be beneÂźcial in managing cardiopulmonary distress (CPD) due to primary sepsis in neonates [6,7,9,13,14]. Indeed, according to recent data of the ECMO Registry in the United States [16], patients with sepsis accounted for 15.5% of total neonatal cases.…”
