Abstract: A B S T R A C TLiquid circulution times were meusured in u 40-dm3 concentric-tube uirlifi ,fermenter with simulated mediu over u wide range of rheologicul properties. Circulation times decreused with increusiny sheur-thinning, und the influence of' druft-tube geometry on circulution time wus jbund to depend on the sheurthinning of the mediu. A semi-theoreticul correlution jor both Newtoniun and non-Newtoniun jirmentution me& wus developed.
