Linear Parameters Causing Landslides: A Case Study of Distance to the Road, Fault, Drainage

Abstract

It that choosing the right parameters for the study area is a compeller process. Parameters provides different results in different areas, and some of these parameters can be evaluated generally, while others reflect the characteristics properties of the areas. A comprehensive literature study was conducted first for this purpose. An examination of more than 1,000 landslides sought to study the effects of the distance to road, fault and drainage parameters. The examined evaluation studied the classification ranges for landslides and the effect of the 3 parameters by themself and with other parameters. 
 64 landslide areas were selected for sampling used in the study from Turkey. Literature research and case studies were compared and the effect of the distance from the road, fault and drainage on landslide was investigated. Landslide-prone areas were determined according to the classification ranges for the parameter. The classification ranges were selected to suit the literature. By preparing distribution graphs at % of the areas, the values between which landslides occur were determined. As a result, the study checked the parameter for consistency with the literature and sought to determine the distance of the linear parameters to the landslide area.
