“…Our studies highlighted important roles for LTB4‐mediated signal relay during the formation of persistent swarms at sites of sterile skin injury and in the development of transient swarms during P. aeruginosa infection of lymph nodes . Moreover, paracrine LTB4 signaling also amplifies the collective migration and accumulation of eosinophils, another granulocyte type, in response to parasitic nematodes ( Nippostrongylus brasiliensis , Caenorhabditis elegans ) …”

“…Interestingly, during infection with T. spiralis, which has an extended tissue-dwelling stage in the muscle, the eosinophil appears to protect the encysted larval stages, and in the absence of eosinophils, these parasites are damaged by macrophages and neutrophils (154). Moreover, eosinophils respond directly to nematode products and migrate toward nematodes both in vitro and in vivo, with a key role for leukotrienes in this process (155). Investigators have known for many years that leukotrienes are produced during GI nematode infection (156).…”

“…Besides, local eosinophil accumulation has been reported to be enhanced with leukotriene through paracrine activation. [4] Thus, NSAID might exacerbate this segmental eosinophilic-mediated vasoconstriction process.…”
