Abstract: The COVID-19 pandemic is a unique opportunity to examine the relationships between hospitalists, neurosurgeons, and patients. Each individual must weigh the risk of further virus spread during a pandemic, while maintaining personal and professional obligations. Here we reflect on the experience of both neurosurgeon and hospitalist. We identify a need for interdisciplinary reflection and collaboration so that a potential second wave or future pandemic might be better mitigated.
