Abstract: DefinitionLactoferricin is a cationic peptide that is generated by the acid-pepsin hydrolysis of mammalian lactoferrin present in the secretory granules of neutrophils (polymorphonuclear leukocytes) as well as in exocrine secretions, including milk, tears, and saliva.
