Abstract

A 72-year-old woman with hypertension, non-insulin-dependent diabetes mellitus and chronic renal impairment was referred for assessment of a cardiac murmur. A 12-lead electrocardiogram showed left bundle branch block and left ventricular hypertrophy with a strain pattern.
