“…Publications identified in literature on Lean Development (Oppenheim, 2004;Hines et al, 2006;Possamai & Ceryno, 2008;Dal Forno et al, 2008;Pessôa et al, 2008;Salgado et al, 2009;Dal Forno & Forcellini, 2012) mostly deal with the subject in general terms, focusing on the concepts and tools, and there is little information about its applications and mainly on the results that this application is generating for the company. Some papers (Dal Forno et al, 2008;Salgado et al, 2009) specifically address the research as a principle or a particular Lean Development tool being deployed individually and what results it brings to the company.…”

“…The Lermen, Echeyeste, Peralta, Sonego, & Marcon (2018) study compiled a list of more than 40 practices and tools that literature associates to LPD. Dal Forno and Forcellini (2012) pointed out, after a bibliometric analysis over the theme, 15 practices and principles also associated to LPD, while Salgado and Dekkers (2018) consolidated a list with more than 18 LPD principles, after a systematic review of literature. In face of several options, mainly for simplification, LPD principles will be considered herein as: Value stream mapping: mapping of the main interactions (internal and external) involved inside a process, seeking to separate value-adding activities, required non-value-adding activities, and non-value-adding activities (the latter must be fully eliminated) (Hines & Rich, 1997).…”

“…A lean approach to product development is a valuable asset and its base is the importance of appropriate integration of people, processes, tools and technologies to add value to the consumer and society [1][2][3]. The productivity was improved in many studies by opting two techniques such as time study and motion study along with JIT, 5S and Kanban tools were used to optimize the resource utilization and results were plotted between time vs distance [4][5][6][7]. The cycle time reduced and productivity was improved by using eliminate, combine, rearrange and simplify principle with time study followed in the assembly line process [8,9].…”
