Abstract: In transformer design the core-loss current and the magnetizing current can be found from the poiver loss and the energy stored in the iron. -1 simple method of simultaneously measuring these two quantities by means of the A.C. potentiometer is given. The energy stored per unit weight at different flux densities is a definite property of the material, possibly expressible by an index. Curves are given for some nickel iron samples.
