“…The case of Xinqiao was further promoted nationwide, for example, the central government granted five provincial-level administrations (Shandong, Tianjin, Jiangsu, Hubei and Sichuan) the power to practice the policy titled 'regulations on selection for rural single-story houses and urban high-rising buildings through the linkage principle (cheng xiang jian she yong di zeng jian gua gou ping fang yu gao lou de xuan ze guan li ban fa). However, without proper corresponding social policies (Qian 2015), implementation of the intra-territorialization tactic has been met with strong resistance from rural residents.
