Knowledge, Attitude, Practices and Associated Factors Towards Colostrum Feeding among Mothers of Infants in Ambo District of West Shewa Zone, Oromiya Region, Ethiopia

Abstract: Background: Colostrum is the first breast milk produced after birth and is important for promotion of health and prevention of infections of the newborn. “…Mothers who are counselled on TIBF were 2.59 times more likely had good practice of CF. This nding was supported by study done in Wolaita Sodo city, Ambo, Gozamen district and Kombolcha (31)(32)(33)(34). This shows that lack of counseling on the importance of TIBF with colostrum make the mothers to initiate BF later, they would have more time for infant feeding malpractices like colostrum avoidance.…”
