Abstract: The kinetics of the oxidation-reduction of hydrous oxide films formed electrochemically at an Ni+ Co-based amorphous alloy in alkaline solutions display numerous similarities with many polymercoated electrodes. In cyclic voltammetric experiments, the anodic response shows a strong dependence on the magnitude and the time spent at negative potentials, particularly in the case of relatively thick films, while the cathodic peak remains essentially unaffected by these variables.
