Abstract:ABSTRACT:In this work, a method to obtain exactly solvable potentials for the one-dimensional Schrödinger equation with a position-dependent mass (SEPDM) and a procedure to determine their isospectral potential partners are presented. In the first case, the problem of exactly solvable SEPDM is worked by means of the point canonical transformation method which permit to convert the SEPDM problem into a standard Schrödinger-like equation with a position-independent mass (SLEPIM). In the second case, the procedur… Show more
It is shown that bound states in continuum can be found in the effective-mass Schrödinger equation with a continuously varying mass. Two models with different mass profiles are studied.

scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
