The community service carried out aims to increase the knowledge and understanding of farmers in the processing of agricultural waste, especially composting rice straw. Community service is also held to increase farmers' knowledge regarding the role of rice straw compost in improving soil fertility. The method used is socialization or counseling as a form of knowledge transfer to farmers. The socialization involved 20 members of the Subak Telun Ayah group, Gianyar Bali. The results show that due to limited knowledge of the benefits of rice straw for soil fertility, farmers tend to burn the agricultural waste produced. Farmers also do not believe in the benefits of compost so they prefer the use of inorganic fertilizers.

Limbah pertanian cenderung dipandang sebagai bahan buangan oleh petani, sehingga sering terbuang percuma dan dibakar. Limbah pertanian yang terbuang pada dasarnya merupakan bahan organik yang mengandung unsur hara yang dibutuhkan tanaman. Dampaknya petani membutuhkan jumlah pupuk yang lebih banyak untuk meningkatkan produksi, disisi lain petani membuang bahan baku pupuk yang bermanfaat bagi kesuburan dan kesehatan tanah. Keterbatasan pengetahuan petani mengenai kandungan hara makro dan mikro limbah pertanian menyebabkan limbah dibuang dan dibakar. Umumnya petani juga tidak mengetahui metode pengomposan limbah pertanian, khususnya limbah jerami padi. Kondisi ini juga terjadi di kawasan Subak Telun Ayah, Tegalalang, Gianyar. Guna mengatasi permasalahan petani, maka dilakukan penyuluhan atau sosialisasi terkait kandungan limbah dan upaya pengolahan melalui pengomposan. Petani diberikan pengetahuan terkait pengomposan limbah pertanian dengan cepat, mudah dan menghasilkan kompos berkualitas dengan memanfaatkan dekomposer alami (seperti kotoran hewan dan tanah subur). Petani juga diberikan pengetahuan terkait manfaat dari kompos dari limbah pertanian bagi kesuburan tanah. Harapannya petani memiliki pengetahuan terkait pengelolaan limbah pertanian dan mampu memanfaatkannya, sehingga kedepannya mampun mewujudkan pertanian yang ramah lingkungan. Kata kunci: sosialisasi, limbah pertanian, pengelolaan limbah, kesuburan tanah, Subak ABSTRACT Agricultural waste tends to be seen as a waste material by farmers, so it is often wasted and burned. Agricultural waste that is wasted is basically organic material that contains nutrients needed by plants. As a result, farmers need more fertilizer to increase production, on the other hand, farmers throw away fertilizer raw materials that are beneficial for soil fertility and health. The limited knowledge of farmers regarding the macro and micro nutrient content of agricultural waste causes the waste to be disposed of and burned. Generally, farmers also do not know the method of composting agricultural waste, especially rice straw waste. This condition also occurs in the Subak Telun Ayah area, Tegalalang, Gianyar. In order to overcome farmers' problems, counseling or socialization related to waste content and processing efforts through composting is carried out. Farmers are given knowledge related to composting agricultural waste quickly, easily and to produce quality compost by utilizing natural decomposers (such as animal manure and fertile soil). Farmers are also given knowledge regarding the benefits of compost from agricultural waste for soil fertility. MOL is an organic fertilizer made from fermented natural materials that contain carbohydrates and many macro and micro nutrients. This type of fertilizer also contains microorganisms that its contribute towards role as biofertilizer. One potential organic material for MOL that is easily available is bamboo shoots. Bamboo shoots contain important nutrients which can improve plant growth and development. The purpose of this study was to determine what bacteria are contained in bamboo shoot MOL and to determine its effect on growth in pakcoy plants (Brassica rapa L). This research is an experimental study using RAL (Complete Randomized Design), including: isolation and characterization of bamboo shoot MOL, application of MOL to pakcoy plants (Brassica rapa L) containing bacterial isolates from bamboo shoot MOL. The observed parameters include plant height, root length, number of leaves and wet weight of pakcoy plants followed by statistical analysis using analysis of variance (ANOVA) and characterization results on isolates obtained based on Bergey's Manual of Determinative Bacteriology. From the research results obtained that the prediction of the genus of bacteria contained in bamboo shoots is Lactobacillus, Streptococcus Sp, Saccharococcus, Veillonella sp, Azotobacter, and Rhizobacter which play a role in accelerating decomposition so as to produce the best quality fertilizer and MOL contained in bamboo shoots has a significant effect on the growth of pakcoy (Brassica rapa L). The best result for MOL bamboo shoots that are good for pakcoy plant growth is obtained at a concentration of 150ml / L so that MOL bamboo shoots have the potential for pakcoy plant growth.
