“…After centrifugation of the tube, the n-hexane was removed and the pellet was vacuum-dried. To extract fucoidan from the pellet, we used diluted HCl, which had been used in studies reported to date (Chandía and Matsuhiro 2008;Rioux et al 2007;Tako et al 1999). We first determined an optimal condition (HCl concentration, temperature, duration of extraction) that maximized fucoidan yield with minimum degradation.…”
