Is the inclinometer a valid measure of thoracic kyphosis? A cross-sectional study

Abstract: The gravity-dependent (analogue) inclinometer produces angles that are comparable to the modified Cobb angle obtained from radiographs, establishing its criterion validity as a safe clinical tool for measuring thoracic kyphosis.

For comparison, it is known that the formetric and inclinometry measures of external thoracic kyphosis overestimate the radiographic determined thoracic kyphosis by approximately 7° and maybe more depending on the unique population [ 23 , 46 , 47 ].
