Case reportMr P.D., aged 39 presented with a 2-month history of a recurrent dermatitis affecting the left arm. He had no previous personal or family history of skin disease. He had noticed that each time his rash flared up, his partner had dyed her hair black.When he was first seen he had a weeping eczema of his left arm (Fig. i). Patch testing showed a two + reaction to para-phenylene diamine (P.P.D.) i"o in petrolatum. His partner's hair dyed i week earlier produced a negative reaction.
