“…This provides the base knowledge to understand the beneficial properties of a particular food product and further stimulate consumers' interest in it. In the particular case of L. album L., the phenolic compounds have been closely associated with the antioxidant properties of the plant (Matkowski & Piotrowska, 2006;Valyova, Dimitrova, Ganeva, Mihova Kapchina-Toteva, & Petkova Yordanova, 2011), as well as to its remaining health benefits (Paduch et al, 2008;Paduch, Wójciak-Kosior, & Matysik, 2007).…”

“…In this way, several L. album L. phenolic compounds have already been detected, which include the flavonoids quercetin, quercetin-3-Oglucoside, rutin, isoquercitrin, kaempferol-3-O-glucoside and tiliroside, the phenolic acids protocatechuic, chlorogenic, vanillic and caffeic and the phenylpropanoid glycoside ester derivatives lamalboside, acteoside and isoacteoside (Budzianowski & Skrzypczak, 1995;Paduch et al, 2007;Yalcin & Kaya, 2006). However despite that information, a detailed knowledge of the L. album L. phenolic constituents, as well as their content in the plant, is still missing.…”

“…2003). For this reason, many studies were conducted on the phytochemical constituents of Lamium species and their biological activities (Savchenko et al 2001;Flamini et al 2005;Alipieva et al 2007;Ersöz et al 2007;Paduch et al 2007). In addition, they are traditionally consumed as food in some countries (Bremness 1995;Baytop 1999;Cui et al 2003).…”

“…It was shown that methanol, ethyl acetate and heptane extracts of Lamii albi flos L. had no toxic effects on normal human skin fibroblasts (HSF) in the range of concentrations (25-225 μg/ml) and that heptane extracts of Lamii albi flos L significant stimulated human skin fibroblasts proliferation and those properties may be used in designing of new medicinal preparation (5,6). In a previous publication we demonstrated that methanol extracts obtain by Soxhlet extraction of in vivo cultivated plants of Lamium albim L. had high amount of total phenols and antioxidant capacity measured by DPPH-and ABTS-radical scavenging activities.…”

“…It possesses a wide spectrum of therapeutic activities -antiinflammatory, astringent, antiseptic, antibiotic, antispasmodic, antioxidant and anti-proliferative, which is related to the variety of biologically active substances which could be found in that plant: flavonoids, iridoids, phenolic acids, polysaccharides, triterpenes, saponins, phytoecdysteroids, amines, essential oils, tannins and mucilage (5). On the other hand dried flowers of Lamium album L. possess antioxidant, antiproliferative, mucolytic and antispasmodic activity and different extracts of Lamii albi flos stimulate growth human skin fibroblasts in vitro (6,7). Prior to usage dried extracts were diluted in 1ml DMSO and sonicated with ultrasound for completed dissolving.…”
