While some studies revealed that female teachers tend to be affected by emotional exhaustion more than male teachers (Arvidsson et al, 2016;Kabadayi, 2015;Kokkinos, 2007), some studies report that male teachers are more emotionally drained than female teachers (Al-Ayasrah & Abdel Rahman, 2013;Al-Farah, 2001;Bricheno et al, 2009;Gumaiha, 2012), and other studies found no effect of the gender variable on the burnout level (Bakhit & Hassan, 2011;Dbaby, 2012;El-Omari & Freihat, 2011;Ozan, 2009;Paleksic et al, 2015).
