“…Imaging for this patient demonstrated these characteristic patterns for both the intravestibular and enlarging CPA lesions. Given the consistent radiographic features and documented associations between CPA and intravestibular lipochoristomas, we postulate the intravestibular lesion to represent an anatomically separate synchronous lipochoristoma, driven by a common underlying embryological event (3,4,6,9).…”

“…Lipochoristomas, or lipomatous choristomas, represent only 0.1% of all CPA tumors and are commonly associated with sensorineural hearing loss, tinnitus, and dizziness (1,2). Even more rare, these tumors can be found within the vestibule, either as solitary lesions or in conjunction with other synchronous lipochoristomas (Table 1) (3–9). Histologically, these tumors contain mesenchymal elements including vessels, ganglion cells and muscle fibers in a background of adipose tissue.…”

“…Lipomas at this location are seen rarely, representing about 0.15% of the CPA lesions (4, 5). Very rarely, they are located in the IAC, and even less frequently, they have been described in an intravestibular location (6). Recently, Bigelow et al (5) added 17 additional cases to 67 previously reported lipomas located in the CPA or IAC, but simultaneous occurrence of CPA and IAC lipomas are less frequent.…”

“…Beside Menièreʼs disease, ILS may also mimic the clinical manifestation of BPPV (see Chapter 3.3.2 and Table 4 ). Rare differential diagnoses of ILS include intralabyrinthine hemorrhage (see Chapter 2.2.2), fibrosis and lipoma 264 265 .…”
