This thesis presents a qualitative research study, which identifies issues regarding the development of palliative care in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA) hospital setting, from the perceptions of healthcare professionals working in Saudi Arabian hospitals. "O, my Sustainer! Open up my heart and make my task easy for me, and loosen the knot from my tongue so that they might fully understand my speech." (Quran 25-28:114). I thank God Almighty for giving me the strength and the determination to complete this work. I would like to send my thankfulness to my Director of Studies Professor Janet Marsden for her encouragement, patient guidance and useful critique of this PhD research.
