Multiple sclerosis (MS) is a neurodegenerative disease that is a major health problem. This issue requires the development of new tools to control patients' activity and reduce care costs. The monitoring system based on the Internet of things is a suitable solution for this concern. In this study, the researchers developed a tool that uses an Arduino board and four accelerometer sensors, heart rate and pulse oximetry sensors, temperature sensors, and Bluetooth modules to monitor the factors related to the health of multiple sclerosis patients. In this method, the information obtained from the sensors connected to the patient's body is placed on the memory board and displayed with the help of an LCD. In the next step, the Bluetooth module transmits the information obtained from these sensors to a mobile application. This application has the ability to share and store information. This information, together with the date display on the LCD, in addition to notifying the person of the resulting changes; it is also sent periodically to the doctor. In general, this tool, together with a mobile device, helps to increase the selfcare of patients, increases the interaction between the patient and the doctor, reduces the frequeI. nt visits of patients to care centers, and helps to improve the quality of life of patients..

With the advancement of the Internet of Things (IoT), numerous electronic devices are connected to each other and exchange a vast amount of data via the Internet. As the number of connected devices increases, security concerns have become more significant. As one of the potential solutions for security issues, hardware intrinsic physical unclonable functions (PUFs) are emerging semiconductor devices that exploit inherent randomness generated during the manufacturing process. The unclonable security key generated from PUF can address the inherent limitations of conventional electronic systems which depend solely on software. Although numerous PUFs based on the emerging memory devices requiring switching operations have been proposed, achieving hardware intrinsic PUF with low power consumption remains a key challenge. Here, we demonstrate that the process-induced nonlinear conductance variations of oxide semiconductor-based Schottky diodes provide a suitable source of entropy for the implementation of PUF without switching operation. Using a mild oxygen plasma treatment, the surface electron accumulation layer that forms naturally in oxide semiconductor film can be partially eliminated, resulting in a large variation of nonlinearity as an exotic entropy source. The mild plasma-treated Schottky diodes showed near ideal 50% average uniformity and uniqueness, as well as an ideal entropy value without the need for additional hardware area and power costs. These findings will pave the way for the development of hardware intrinsic PUFs to realize energy-efficient cryptographic hardware.

Over the past two decades, hundreds of protocols have been developed for diversified applications of WSN corresponding to different layers in the communication stack. Among these, Media Access Control (MAC) layer protocols are of great interest due to providing possibility of optimizing performance parameters. Despite availability of a large number of survey articles, there remains a gap for a tutorial that offers guidelines about the development process of MAC protocol. In this paper, we present a detailed tutorial for developing a MAC protocol starting from the stage of research gap identification and ending at the performance evaluation. We described the journey of development and implementation of a novel asynchronous MAC protocol ADP-MAC (Adaptive and Dynamic Polling MAC) as a case study. ADP-MAC was developed by deploying a novel concept of channel polling interval distributions, and was compared against Synchronized Channel Polling- MAC (SCP-MAC) and lightweight Traffic Auto-Adaptation based MAC (T-AAD). Finally, we proposed major milestones of protocol development along with recommendations about publishing the research.
