“…In order to diagnose IJVE various imaging techniques including venography, CT, MRI, and color flow Doppler can be used. However, ultrasonography is often sufficient and preferred worldwide due to its non-invasive nature, avoidance of radiation, high availability, and minimal financial burden [ 8 , 12 , 13 ] . Ultrasound effectively identifies venous structures and typically shows a flattened spectral waveform, making it the preferred tool for diagnosing IJVE[ 8 ].…”

Exaggerated anticipatory anxiety is common in social anxiety disorder (SAD). Neuroimaging studies have revealed altered neural activity in response to social stimuli in SAD, but fewer studies have examined neural activity during anticipation of feared social stimuli in SAD. The current study examined the time course and magnitude of activity in threat processing brain regions during speech anticipation in socially anxious individuals and healthy controls (HC). Method Participants (SAD n = 58; HC n = 16) underwent functional magnetic resonance imaging (fMRI) during which they completed a 90s control anticipation task and 90s speech anticipation task.

“…7 In contrast, there are no reports of embolization from internal jugular vein aneurysms, although 3 patients with mural thrombus have been reported. 8,9 Although pulmonary embolism originating from a thrombus in a nondilated jugular vein has been described, literature has shown this risk to be less than 1%. 10,11 No cases of rupture have been reported, and conservative observation of nonsymptomatic aneurysms is generally recommended.…”

“…The authors speculated that this predisposition is caused by reduced strength of the cervical fascia due to the lower activity of the copper‐dependent enzyme lysyl oxidase (5). Furthermore, elevated intrathoraric pressure seemed to play a role in four children with asthma (6) and a patient on positive pressure ventilation (6).…”

“…Management is conservative. Surgical excision or endovascular sclerosis (7) is only indicated if complications or symptoms occur or for cosmetic reasons (1,3,6,7).…”
