Interinstitutional Library Collaboration: Support for a Joint Master of Public Health Program

Abstract: Library-related and resource access issues confronting students enrolled in an inter-institutional joint master's degree program in public health are addressed in this chapter. “…This could be as a result of librarians being comfortable to work with those they know and those who are closer to them. There were no inter-institutional collaborations (Ford and Zeigen, 2014) noticed in this study. Possible reasons for this include the fact that librarians in South Africa may see no value in collaborations, and very few opportunities exist for ordinary librarians to be sent on work visits to other universities.…”
