Abstract: A atividade carbonífera no sul de Santa Catarina se desenvolve há mais de um século e a falta de gerenciamento ambiental nos empreendimentos mineiros causou significativas alterações de qualidade nos recursos hídricos da Bacia Hidrográfica do Araranguá.
