“…Neste tópico é apresentado, inicialmente, um indicador da percepção das famílias agrícolas entrevistadas sobre sua própria condição em termos de insegurança alimentar e fome, com base na aplicação da Escala Brasileira de Segurança Alimentar (Ebia). Instrumento já consagrado internacionalmente, adaptado e validado no Brasil (KEPPLE; SEGALL-CORRÊA, 2011), a Ebia tem sido aplicada desde a escala nacional em levantamentos periódicos pelo IBGE (IBGE, 2014) até o âmbito de estudos com populações determinadas (SEGALL-CORRÊA; MARIN-LEON, 2009;MEDEIROS et al, 2017;SILVA et al, 2017). A Ebia consiste numa escala de medida direta da percepção de insegurança alimentar e fome em nível domiciliar enraizada na experiência de vida, refletindo a crescente ênfase em medidas subjetivas com o uso de escalas psicométricas, contudo, conforme alertam Kepple e Segall-Corrêa (2011), se aplicada isoladamente a escala não é adequada para medir a complexidade de um fenômeno multidimensional e interdisciplinar como a SAN. Recorrendo à versão da Ebia referendada por pesquisadores e utilizada pela IBGE (2014) que consiste num elenco de 14 perguntas, diferenciando famílias nas quais há a presença de menores de 18 anos.…”
