“…LOS has been analysed using many different methods. For example, Barbour et al studied changes among HIV/AIDS inpatients using a multivariable linear regression model [43], while Huang et al analysed LOS and costs based on a generalized linear mixed model [44]. Other authors, like Wang et al, analysed maternity LOS from a two-component Poisson mixed model [45].…”

Exaggerated anticipatory anxiety is common in social anxiety disorder (SAD). Neuroimaging studies have revealed altered neural activity in response to social stimuli in SAD, but fewer studies have examined neural activity during anticipation of feared social stimuli in SAD. The current study examined the time course and magnitude of activity in threat processing brain regions during speech anticipation in socially anxious individuals and healthy controls (HC). Method Participants (SAD n = 58; HC n = 16) underwent functional magnetic resonance imaging (fMRI) during which they completed a 90s control anticipation task and 90s speech anticipation task.

“…46,47 Third, teaching hospitals introduce selection bias and generalizability concerns, for they have a higher proportion of asthmatic patients with Medicaid or no insurance 45 and more minority patients. 48 The different populations at academic centers may modify the associations, but academic medical centers are also the places where evidence-based practices are expected to occur. Fourth, incomplete data were available for medication use, including if medications were used prior to admission or if home medications may have been used while an inpatient, which may be reflected in the difference in bronchodilator use even when controlling for hospital.…”

“…An asthmatic child with an exacerbation of his/her symptoms, usually, loses from 3 to 5 school days and at least one of the parents/caregivers loses the same working time [2, 47, 48]. Therefore, children with asthma have more indirect costs than older asthmatics, as the parents missed work-days sum to the other expenses as an indirect cost.…”
