Abstract: Based on high frequency signal injection and IIR filters, a simple method for initial position estimation of Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motor (PMSM) is proposed, based on high frequency signal injection and IIR filters, by use of IIR filters the order can be lowered to 6, which can ensure an easy achievement on a DSP. A simulation model is built to verify this method. Then an offline test have been done to verify the accuracy of estimation.
