Abstract: thoracic epidural analgesia, maintenance of normothermia; Postoperative-immediate or early extubation, avoidance of salt and water overload, daily weight measurement, multimodal analgesia, early mobilisation, stimulation of gut motility, audit of compliance and outcomes.
