Abstract: Galanin modulates gastrointestinal motility by inhibiting the release of ACh from enteric neurons. It is, however, not known whether galanin also inhibits neuronal cholinergic transmission postsynaptically and whether galanin also reduces the action of other excitatory neurotransmitters.
