2012/13 influenza vaccine effectiveness against hospitalised influenza A(H1N1)pdm09, A(H3N2) and B: estimates from a European network of hospitals

[89] Two modeling studies suggest that, in both acute and long term care settings, HCW vaccination coverage levels are directly correlated with patient protection against influenza infection. [90,91] These models simulated virus transmission in a 30-bed facility with different levels of HCW vaccine uptake, examining the resulting attack rates among patients, did not detect a herd immunity threshold.…”
